The DHS Poster Collection covers a broad range of topics and geographic areas across the state of Delaware, documenting arts, theatre, sports, films, fairs, exhibitions, politics, public service announcements, and lecture series held in the state beginning in 1930. The collection of approximately 600 posters showcases a variety of graphic design work by both amateur and professional artists. The posters come in a range of sizes and mediums including lithography, offset lithography, letterpress processes, collage, and other techniques by hand.
This is the general collection and the largest single collection of posters at the Delaware Historical Society. They have been collected together over the years through purchase and donation in small numbers, or in a grouping that is not historically or archivally significant.
