Letter from Richard S. Rodney to Dorothy Sherwood discussing the authorship of the first Delaware Constitution of 1776. There had been some debate as to who was primarily responsible for writing the document, and many suggested that the main author was either George Read or Thomas McKean. Rodney argues that, based on available evidence of the course of events surrounding the drafting of the Delaware Constitution, McKean couldn't have possibly been the primary author. He suggests it was more likely Read who created the first draft, which was then edited and amended by the rest of the committee before finally being ratifie
