Description
Emily's copy of a letter that Ellwood sent to her and her siblings. A fern leaf (since placed in separate sleeve) was found folded in this letter, the stains from which remain visible. The letter mentions Warren Garrett's wife Mary and son (Walter) Percy, both of whom would die within the next 18 months--Mary of tuberculosis, Percy of Scarlet Fever. Ellwood also discusses other family members, eating habits, and additional daily activities.
