A letter from Mary Hayes Stevens (wife of Henry Clay Stevens) to Emily Bissell, declining to help fundraise for the then-segregated Hope Farm hospital. Letters such as hers ultimately led the Anti-Tuberculosis Society to establish the segregated Edgewood Sanatorium in 1915.
